Daddy filled Hap's tires with air. He'd ridden this hill several times - just not at this kind of speed. We failed to discuss breaks up to this point. The semi-flat tires had worked just fine as a "governor". Hap's okay - just a little road-rash. It hurt his daddy worse than it did him. Daddy has a bum knee and couldn't keep up. Notice how I arrive late. Now that you know he's okay - you've gotta admit it's funny. Tragedy + time = comedy.

After a good long nap, we made it! Set up camp - gathered firewood - said howdy to our neighbors - ate a few snacks...even got to play guitar with some campers from Mulberry. They were a little too rowdy for hap, but daddy and a guy named Mike had a good 20 minute session. The crowd went wild when Daddy played David Allen Coe - "You don't have to call me darlin, darlin...". But we had a 7:00 curfew and left the crowd wantin more. Hotdogs cooked on a stick are the only way to go when you're campin with a 2 year old! Baseball on the radio and a young camper asleep in daddy's lap by the fire. Big moon. Lots of crickets and no bugs. Ahhhh, October camping in the Ozarks like never before.

This is probably our biggest bang for the buck. Nice benches for parents to relax - a wide variety of equipment. But we can see a potential problem with overcrowding at peak playtimes.
